One day, I was watching youtube videos like I usually do on a day-to-day basis.
I saw a CallMeCarson video about making Minecraft Movies.
Being more of a video game developer than a machinima/video maker... I had an idea.
"But what if it were RPGMaker games?"
After some convincing, I got my friends together. And we all decided to make our own games!
The premise was similar to CMC's video. We all made card prompts and put them in a bag, shuffled them, and then drew them.
And we had to make our game using those prompts we were given.
The prompts I was given were the following:
Must include Dunkin Donuts in your game.
Bonus if you are able to get donuts as items (how they work is up to you)
Create a character named "Halloweenkid08".
Have a scene in your game where he talks to a hotel manager at a hotel and has interesting things to say.
Have him say
"Ok this is so weard i met this roblox pursin hoo was namde jimmy and he was mean to me and all the roblox peepl in your hotel and this was the weardest thing iv ever heard he sead your his farther"
Before the game starts, have a character do a stand-up comedy bit that may or may not have to do with the rest of the game.
Of note, the Airline Food prompt was one I submitted.
For some added context about the Halloweenkid08 one;
One night my friend Danny decided to sit us all down and we all read through his original roblox account's inbox.
His name on there was Halloweenkid08.
This SORT OF became an in-joke in the group. When I had gotten that card I had decided that I was gonna make fun of Dann as much as humanly possible.
In hindsight, I should've made fun of him even more.
Most of everyone else in the group had decided to use RPGMaker MV. I, on the other hand, wanted a challenge.
And this was the perfect excuse to use a version I had been eyeballing a long time:
RPGMaker 2003.
I had wanted an excuse to use that engine so I decided to use it for shitty funne halloweenkid game.
I ended up falling in love with the version, especially given the amount of control I was allowed.
I still use it to this day (at least as of 7/18/25, I have been looking to use other engines).
Halloweenkid08's Revenge was my first game in a long time. After Vehicle Simulator... I thought I was done.
Burnt-out. Washed up. I had (and still have) a ton of projects I started but never finished.
I thought I would never release another game again.
Halloweenkid08's Revenge kinda reminded me that I can release a game anytime. Anywhere. Anyplace.
I don't even have to put much effort, I just gotta get something out there.
Its never too late to seek your own vengeance.
